  • Ah Marriage

I will officially have been married two weeks tomorrow.  Is it weird?  Is it different?  No, not really.  It's just about the same as we were going out as boyfriend and girlfriend, there's just an important document stating that we are married and that it's legal and all that.  I like being able to say, "my husband", it's a nice feeling I get when I say it, and he loves to refer to me as his wife.  He told me he was waiting a really long time to call me that.  We've been doing quite well lately.  Very happy, and of course, we still have our regular squabbles.  But that's a given.

Christmas season is picking up at work, he called me earlier to say he was going to work overtime tonight.  So hopefully they call me in to work tomorrow.  Things have been somewhat crazy since the wedding.  Halloween night was drama... but it ended well.  I wont get into that because it's a long drawn out story and it's stupid.  But long story short, my best friend, who was my Maid of Honor, her boyfriend is a bag of douche, so we kicked him out basically and sent him home, which is 3 hours way.  The wedding went pretty smoothly, I have to be honest, it was the best day of my life so far.  I wouldn't have changed a thing.  Even the things that went wrong.  I forgot the wedding favors I made, and didn't remember I left them at the house until, after the wedding! o( >_<);  The directions we sent included with the invitations were wrong, google maps or map quest, can't remember which one, failed to mention the gated community we had our wedding at, has 3 or 4 different entrances, and instructed people to go to the back gate, where there is no gaurd, in which case you're supposed to check in at the front gate with the gaurd and get a guest pass.  So that was a bit of a disaster, some people didn't show up because they got lost, and ended up being too late for the wedding.  But we had a good turn out anyway.  But the people that didn't make it, I wish could've.

My wedding day aside from all that stuff, was amazing.  I felt absolutely stunning, and I smiled so much my face was sore!  We took lots of photos and I can't wait to frame some of them.  All in all, being married is great.  I love being his wife, and being able to say I'm going to spend the rest of my life with him. ( ^.^)  So without further adeu'!  I leave you folks with some pics!

  • Wedding Planning Update 2

So on Wednesday night, I found the dress finally!  I found it on David's Bridal's website, and it should be arriving sometime next week.  I really hope alterations aren't needed.. that would make things so much easier!  All I need now is shoes!  I need to find a nice guest book, and I want to find a garter too.  I still need to set up the flowers and Gale is buying those for me I think >.>; as a wedding gift, I need to call her!  Marcus really needs to order the vest he wants, and so does Vinny if they want to match, being the groom and best man.  I also need to find out how things should flow, ceremony, then reception.  But when does the tossing of bouquet and garter happen?  And when should we talk about the important stuff.. like thanks to so and so.. and blah blah blah... I hope I get things figured out soon.. I can't believe the wedding is in about 2 weeks!  I feel like we haven't got too many things left to decide, figure out, or arrange.  Wish me luck all! ^_^  I also haven't quite figured out what to do about my hair and makeup.  But I think that's the least of my worries.  When the big day arrives, I will have lots of pictures to post I hope!  Until November 1st!  And a little bit in between! (^.~ )v  Have a good weekend folks!

  • Modesty

So, yesterday!  Gale (a lady from Marcus' church) and I, went into Tacoma, and she helped me pick out the flowers for the wedding.  I decided to go with live flowers, as they are cheaper, and much prettier than silk ones. (a big DUH!! lol) We had great conversation, from subjects of traveling, to her life; in a sense of how many kids she's had and all that jazz, and to the conversation that we had before she dropped me off in the parking lot at Borders, modesty.

We were at JoAnne's Fabric Store and we were looking at patterns for wedding dresses, so I could get an idea of what kind or style I wanted.  And while flipping through the books of patterns and such, you would come across different dresses and etc.  So while flipping through, Gale being a good faithed, grandmother, and mother of 7! (yes 7! and she doesn't look it at all) and a continuous Church goer, she mentioned how some of the girls these days wear such "un modest" clothing.  Which would be your typical teen girl wear these days, low cut shirts, hiked up skirts, super tight/skinny jeans and so on.  Now, there's nothing wrong with these types of clothes, but a little modesty is nice.  lol  I hated to go to school, and see people's thongs hanging out of their jeans.  Or for instance, at work, there's a gal there who's very overweight, and she wears clothes that are maybe 2x's too small for her.   And well.. let's just say I see more than I want of her skin.

I could relate to what Gale was saying because, I myself prefer to dress a little more conservatively.  I don't like to show a lot of skin, as I am uncomfortable with it, and yes I lack a bit of self-confidence in showing off my shoulders and legs and so on.  But I was also raised in covering just about every inch of my skin except my face lol.  (Thanks mom! >.<;)  I just thought about it, and I noticed that there are teens between the ages of 12-17 that dress, really inappropriately.  I mean, why such a low cut shirt, when you're probably not able to show off cleavage yet anyway.  It's just a little disgusting.  And it makes me wonder, do parents really let their kids leave the house looking like that?  Or let alone buy that sort of clothing?

A lot of things these days are also trends.  I mean, males are wearing "girl pants" or "skinny jeans".  I was also talking to my roomate the other night, when we went for a walk, and we were talking about trends.  He mentioned that it sickens him that some males don't dress like males anymore.  And I mentioned how it's almost a trend to be gay, lesbian or bisexual.  Cause I know that there are some people who say they are, or act like they are, because they thinks it's cool, and in some cases, at least where I live, the kids who are "experimenting" are really young, like 13-16 years old.  And they always seem to share the same things in common, they think they know, or some kid even told me, they thought it was cool.  And it's also a trend in youngters, if you're a girl it's cool to have a guy who's gay as a friend.  Or it's cool for a guy to be gay.  I'm not saying there's anything wrong with gay, lesbian, or bisexual people, but there are some people who pretend because it's part of a trend or fad.  It's just irritating. My roomate also mentioned he couldn't walk through the mall without seeing groups of "teeny boppers" who dress or act a certain way for attention.  But what can ya do.  We ended up just wondering, how are teenagers going to be a few years... and with the teenagers as of now, what kind of adults are they going to be in a couple of years?

Of course, music, tv and movies and such are big inspirations for most youngters, or maybe not just youngsters but everyone to create a sort of, "persona".  My roomate just came to the conclusion that most people these days, aren't "real" or "their true selves" anymore.  What do you think?

Anywho... back to my wedding planning, I've got a lot of things moving and made decisions on just about everything but my dress.  The food, cake and drinks are taken care of, the decorations and flowers are decided for as well.  ^-^ I'm really happy that things are moving along.  And this Sunday, I will be starting the invitations, it'll be so much fun, I have a friend who's really into scrap booking, and she looooooves crafting, so she was so kind enough as to help me make my own wedding invitations, I'll be sure to post a pic of them if they turn out nicely! Until next time folks!  Have a great weekend and be safe! (^.~ )v
